First summer holiday routine with 3DC

Thinking ahead to summer holidays, we’ll have 8 weeks to fill with a 6.5yo, a 4.5yo (who is in nursery but the sooner he finishes there, the cheaper it will be!) and a 6 week old.

Any thoughts on how a routine looks, what I can do to manage them all, etc, would be very welcome! DH will be back at work and we’re planning 1 week abroad at the end of the holidays. Lucky to live in a big city so there are some options, but am used to working full time and having a bit of paid daily help which I’m thinking of stopping for the financial aspect. Wondering how to fill the time!

How do people do it?

Can you potentially buy the older one in camp 1-2 days a week? This will ease pressure/boredom and there can be some relatively cheap options if you look around. In terms of entertainment at home, why don’t you have a theme each week? The older one can help come up with ideas and perhaps get rewards for leading the charge and including your middle one. So you have time for baby. p.s. if you’re on maternity leave there’s also potential for having your older ones friends while their parents are working, if they can return the favour on some days.

The older one has complained about every camp he’s ever been on, but I think I might have to do that, yes. At least for a little bit - good to have the structure and socialise with peers.
