5 months old wearing mittens to sleep

My DD is 5 months old and since she was born she scratches herself a lot.
We keep her nails short but she still manages to scratches herself in the face often.
For that reason we are still folding over the
mittens on her sleepsuits when she is asleep.
During the day her hands are free and she is grabbing things and using her hands fine.
I’m worried that we might be hindering her development by keeping her hands covered at night but at the same time I don’t want her to scratch her face or her eyes and get hurt.
What should I do? Any suggestions are welcome.

I can't think of any likely kind of development reliant on finger movements during sleep. If her nails are short though i am sure any scratches are only really shallow and will heal
up really quickly so either way am sure it's fine

It won't be doing any harm at all having her hands covered at night
