My ex used to see our son when he could be arsed. Now he's not single he's doing 30 percent. 2 weeknights and 1 weekend a month. He's a game player so won't give me shifts until the last minute. When ds is there all they do is sit on the couch and eat rubbish. It must be wonderful for him to live life at his own schedule when he has a young kid 🤔

Presumably he’s always been the same?

Yeah. There is a reason we left them.

I never know his shifts more than a month In advance. Its so annoying. The games never end.

It feels like that now, but keep on keeping on.... the time will come when your DS will tire of his company, as he matures in a way that his father never did, while he realises that Mum basically kept the show on the road. If he sees less of him, less chance of him being a role model.
Your son is already learning that ladies with a backbone can survive without useless partners, and will not stand for that nonsense, howevr much you hoped that things would be different.

Totally agree that they get, if not the life of Riley, far less responsibilities, chores and demands.
…. and money too as whatever they pay in maintenance doesn’t match what you need to put in to keep a roof over their heads, food and clothes. 🤷‍♀️
