My baby has always been hard to get milk into (breastfed with difficulty exclusively for 5 months, then she became even less reluctant to nurse, so moved to combi and once she slept through bottles only)
At 5.5 months when we started early weaning (for reflux) she was having approx 26/28oz a day. 7 months 23oz was the norm. Reflux finally went yay! The last week or so she's been refusing bottles after 1-2oz... main problem being, if milk time is when toddler is eating, baby will want food instead and sip on milk like it's water, but not actually drink water.
Due to her refusing more milk, I've dropped her morning 5oz and give her a Wheatabix with 2oz, plus other dairy. So she's now on 3 bottles (7, 6 & 5) ,16-18oz total in a day, including the 2oz in her cereal. Very low for her age.. with 2-3 small meals a day.
On average
7.30/8 wake
8.30. Wheatabix with 2oz, fruit & cheese/yogurt
10/11-11/12. nap
6oz offered. 3-6 drunk
Lunch/snack
2-4 nap
4.30. 7oz offered. 3-6 drunk
- Tea
7.30. 5oz offered. 3-5 drunk
My main concern is she doesn't drink water properly yet. And her nappies are definitely lighter now. Tho lots more poo. I'm trying to incorporate a lot of water rich foods
Any advice?? Thank you
