My boy is 4 months old GP has prescribed Neocate as advised by health visitor and infant feeding team he's been on Aptamil Pepti 1 for over 3 weeks with no signs of improvement to his skin. Gp has scheduled us back in for app on Tuesday he said this will be passed onto specialist. He also said something along the line of Atopic exzema auto immune response could be possible other allergies. Who are the specialists and what could this mean?

Specialist would be paeds and or dermatologist. My daughters allergies are handled by a general paediatrician some of my friends with more complicated allergies are an allergy specialist paediatrician. My daughter however has bad reflux and at 3.5 we have just moved to a gastro specialist.

You might need alfamino instead of neocate. My daughter did as the neocate has coconut in and she has a coconut allergy. It's not a common allergy but I have seen quite a few other babies be allergic to coconut in formula on various cmpa mums groups. There are some good cmpa on Facebook or locally. We have a fantastic group in my area with regular meet ups and a what'sapp group to share all things allergies, asthma and eczema and anything else sort of related to allergies
