Can I ask how soon your DC walked after first pulling to stand?

As above. How soon after pulling to stand did your DC take their first independent steps?

Pulling up to stand was 13 months, walking was 17 months.

DC1, 9 days (was walking confidently by 7.5 months)
DC2, 9 weeks: walked at about 12 months
DC3, 7 weeks: ditto
DC4, 5 weeks: walked at about 11 months
DC5, 2 weeks ( didn't stand or cruise until 15 months)

And all were considered within normal range by the nurseries they attended.

Your baby wasn't walking at 7 months 🤣

Yes. 7.5 months, still wearing 3-6 month clothes. Born 4lb11oz at 42 weeks. Rolling over at 10 weeks and pushing up to hands and knees before starting solids (13 weeks in those days). Climbed up the fire guard onto the mantle at 4 months (tiny toes hooked through the wires- ouch!).
First bought shoes were BabyBotte blue boots in a 14 ( the smallest shoes we could get) but before then I glued welly soles that I'd cut down onto socks so the nursery would let her play outside.

Mine pulled to stand between 9-10 months and was properly walking at just shy of 14 months

Fucking forever. It was about 7-8 months between confidently standing and cruising and taking his first actual steps. Everyone kept saying it would happen asap but he just didn't bother letting go for ages.

He was one of the first to stand in our antenatal group and the last to walk.

Sidenote we also had one in our group walking at 7 months so I absolutely believe the previous posters child walked so early.

One of the little boys in our NCT group was walking/running at 8 months. My friend has a great video of him cruising round a foot stool before just letting go and bolting across the room, with her letting out an audible scream. I also can believe @ODFOx

Thanks all for your replies! My DS1 didn't start walking until around 15months but I couldn't quite remember the progression of skills before this so wanted to get some other mums' insight.

DS2 is approaching 8 months old (end of next week). Within the past couple of weeks he's learnt to crawl on hands and knees (before this he was scooting backwards on his tummy from around 5.5-6months old) and he's also able to get into the sitting position independently. Within the last week he's also independently pulling to stand using furniture (has been doing this a little longer by holding onto our hands).

Judging by the comments, it seems like it takes at least a few months for babies to get confident enough to take their first steps though so don't anticipate it happening for a while yet!
