Reception/year one

Hello
Might be a silly question but here goes, I know nursery is completely separate, but when you apply for reception, do the children in that class automatically go into year one or do you have to reapply for year one? Or is it a transition from one to another? Thanks

It's a transition from one year to the next. No need to apply.

@Faceache45 thank you!

Reception to year 1 is automatic.

If it’s an infant school, you will have to apply for junior school or primary school in year 2 for year 3 but if it’s a primary school (Reception to year 6) then next application is in year 6 for year 7 unless you live in a 3 tier system in which case the application ages is different but no application needed for year 1.

The application points are generally for Reception and Yr7 (Secondary school). Plus Yr3 if they are at an Infant school. (Or for middle school if you are in a very rare area!)
