Easing the transition to primary school

My DD will be going to school in September. She'll be amongst the eldest in the year. Academically and in terms of practical skills (dressing herself, wiping her own bum etc) she will be fine. She attends preschool and enjoys spending time with a group of kids she's been with for a couple of years. However she still cries frequently at drop off and when I take her to places with new children she appears reluctant to engage with them, clings to me and won't consider any activities where the expectation is that she will be there without a parent. I don't think any of her close friends from preschool will be going to the same school as her. I'm wondering whether anyone has any advice for us to support her to prepare for this transition?
