Axkid mini kid or cybex? Worried child will object to being rearfacing?

I need to choose a new car seat for my tall 3.5 year old, she's outgrowing her Joie 360 and the baby needs to move into it now. I would like to keep her rear facing so was looking at the axkid mini kid 2 but worried because it only rear faces whether she will kick up a fuss about being rear facing as she gets older?
My other option was a forward facing cybex Pallas g with impact shield which I think the shield would be able to be used for another year befkre she outgrew it then it would just be a normal forward facing seat...

Any advice?

Personally I wouldn't use an impact shield seat. They exert massive forces on the abdomen and in some tests dummies have been ejected. Both my kids were in axkid minikids until they outgrew them. Never whinged about rear facing. Since being forward facing the youngest often asks to go rear facing again as it is more comfortable as their legs don't dangle down.

I loved our Axkid Minikids! I would go with the v3 (or they might have a v4 now?) as it will last up to 36kg.
my giant 98 percentile 6yo is still loving his!

And yes - as said above, there is a lot of evidence to suggest impact shields are unsafe so I would avoid...

I had no idea about impact shields being a problem so that's really helped make the decision thank you! Axkid it is!
