What can your 9mo ‘do’?

I have an older child but can’t really remember what she was like at this age. The online milestones aren’t really a true likeness a lot of the time so thought I would ask people with real babies!

DS is 9 months and has just had a little spurt in his motor skills (he’s learned to crawl and pull to stand in a week!) but socially it feels like he hasn’t learned anything for a while, so just thought I would check.

Crawl, can stand with support, can play crawling “tig”, peekaboo, can entertain themselves for 15 mins or so on the floor with toys while I have a cuppa. Can self settle to sleep for naps and at bed time. Can self feed a range of foods like toast, sausage, carrots etc

Mine is 13 months. At 9 months he could crawl but nothing else much to write home about.

I find the range differs greatly at this age. One of my kids was still lying down and rolling to get where they wanted to be. Couldn't sit up. Another was sitting, pulling to stand and crawling. The one who was just rolling around actually walked earlier. The range is huge at this age

My youngest is 16 months. At nine months I recall she could sit unaided, respond to her name, babble, copy basic gestures (e.g. clapping, waving), attempt to copy some familiar words (but it always just sounded like "aaahh" or "ah-ahh" depending on how many syllables the word had), follow gaze and play with toys. She was just starting to feed herself finger foods and was (and still is) very advanced in fine motor skills. Didn't crawl till eleven months though and didn't start pulling herself up till about 13 months!

They're all different. My older one was much slower with social development - she didn't start copying gestures till 13 months or so, didn't really point or gesture for the longest time and was slow to talk. She's now three and has caught up completely with nursery saying she's on track in all areas of development.
