Daughter is Stuck!

I've never used this website before, but I was hoping someone could help me. I have a 13 year old daughter who was taking a relaxing bath. I was in the kitchen and heard her yell out for help. Turns out she got her toe stuck in the bath faucet! I've tried to help her pull it out and tried to use a few things to make it looser, but it won't budge! She is starting to get more and more worried and I'm not sure what to do. Has anyone seen this before? Any thoughts on how to get her out?

Oil? WD40? Or the fire brigade

MadeOfAllWork · 01/01/2024 19:31

Old school problem there.

You need to cool down her toe to stop it being swollen.

Mia2297 · 01/01/2024 19:32

What do you mean old school problem? Is this common? Have you seen this before? How would I do that?

As @MadeOfAllWork said: you need to drain the bath, open a window and let her get cold.

It’s the kind of thing that comes up in sitcoms really, that’s all.

Mia2297 · 01/01/2024 19:35

I'm confused, what is wrong with my question?

Oh go away with reporting every harmless thread 🙄

Ilovethewild · 01/01/2024 19:36

I do t know if it’s common but I have heard of it happening so it is not u heard of.

any oil/lubricant type will get o. Her hands/bath tub etc and make it hard to manoeuvre.

chill, put something in the tub to rest her foot on, so she can relax. Cool down,

Nothing, but it’s such a sitcom trope that it seems like it doesn’t happen in real life. Also the use of faucet rather than tap.

NotDoingOk · 01/01/2024 19:36

I'm sure I've heard of this happening before. But if the toe got in, it can come out.

EauNeu · 01/01/2024 19:37

I think people are incredulous because this is like a plot line from The Beano circa 1987..

V unfortunate that it's happened in real life! but yes cooling down will help.

DNLove · 01/01/2024 19:40

Make her toe cold and warm the faucet. Ice cube in toe, hot water bottle on faucet.

More like 1937 😁

Why would you decide that a website you've never used before would be the best.place to get an answer?

Google or YouTube would be my go tos

Mia2297 · 01/01/2024 19:47

I did search it as well, but I thought I should find where parents go for advice hoping someone else who has dealt with this would know better
