Long haul with a 6/7 month old, are we insane?

Hey! FTP here.

We are fortunate enough to able to go on a nice holiday this year, we’ve decided on the Caribbean in a few weeks time!

We have a gorgeous little boy who’ll be 6 nearly 7 months old. Now we can’t help thinking we are insane taking such a young baby on a long haul flight - anyone have experience with this?

We aren’t too sure on the pool temperatures, is there a guide on this as such? I know babies under a certain age need a warmer pool etc but couldn’t find much for a 6 month old! (He’s very chunky too haha)

Thank you!

We travelled to Bali when our son was that age. My niece and nephew were 11 months and 2. We had a much easier time than my brother and SIL did. Ours was small enough to fit comfortably in the bassinets on the plane, slept for long portions of the journey. Went everywhere in a pram and carrier and didn’t want to be about and walking so we actually got some good relaxation time. We packed a bag full of milk and some pouches of food but he ate well from the rice and fruit etc at the hotel buffet. best time to go in my opinion x
