Baby won’t feed on take off / landing

I’m away for new years and my 4 month old didn’t feed on take off to get here but thankfully did on landing. It’s a really short flight so challenging to feed for both. Made some funny faces / was a bit grizzly on take off but seemed okish. A bit worried about the flight back now though, especially if they get a cold before going… any experience with this?

Why would you want them to feed on take off/landing? Is it something to do with air pressure? If so, would a dummy help?

While it can help soothe them, it isn't mandatory. Offer a feed if you want but it is fine if your baby doesn't feed.

I basically got my boob out and clamped DD's head to it. She wasn't particularly impressed by this but latched on after a couple of minutes and took a few sucks.
I don't know if she realised it made her ears feel better or if it was just habit but she did keep sucking for a few minutes.
