Feel like I’m losing my mind with tantrums :( it doesn’t help that I’m 37 weeks pregnant so obviously Tired

but yes any tips please? DS just turned 2 the other week. Is very strong willed and stubborn and can only say few words (so I feel he’s very frustrated he can’t express more)
everything’s ‘no’ and sometimes I feel like he is just angry all the time!!

Obviously other people say he’s not like that for them and I know he’ll act worse for me and DH but does it get a bit easier with the tantrums?

I feel like it’s constant :(

That age is tough and especially if you’re tired! He might also have feelings he can’t articulate about baby coming. Our son also didn’t talk much until 2 (and then he had a language explosion, which is common in boys). I found this book really helpful and it’s what I recommend to parents (I’m a psychologist): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Talk-Little-Kids-Will-Listen-ebook/dp/B01LZYOXLZ/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=3EDEFK61M8N60&keywords=how+to+talk+so+little+kids+will+listen&qid=1703971580&sprefix=how+to+ta%2Caps%2C80&sr=8-1

@Eatingallthemincepies thank you for this :) definitely adding to my basket!

did you find his tantrums lessened after the language burst? I’ve heard about this
and I think it may help our son when he can say more

Yes they did lessen a bit. It’s mostly because they’re a big ball of emotions without the brain capacity to regulate, so they need us to teach them how. Lots of helpful advice in the book. Also don’t forget about taking care of you - this job is hard!

I think they can bloody tell when you're about to pop and up the tantrums!

I think the behaviour of mine improved when their speech & language improved. How does he do on this progress checker?

I think that I'd also try to get to the library with him this week and see if they have any books on emotions for toddlers.
