To think this is just so horrible

So no Christmas present for my teenage son from his dad this year . He kept telling me how skint he is. But my son has shown me posts on facebook where he’s telling everyone how much his flights to the phillipines cost . So obviously we know where his priorities are . I’m more angry for my son as he makes out he doesn’t care but he does

Understandably angry. But your son willl soon make his own mind up about the kind of guy his dad is.

Even if he has always been like this it doesn't make it right. Neither does paying maintenance (which if it is CMS calculated is probably at ridiculously low amount anyway)

Even if he was really skint, a bar of chocolate/socks/smellies/a tshirt are all doable if you actually prioritise your kid . Even if it's a token gesture rather than a big wow gift. It was shitty of him to give nothing.

My ex didn’t get anything for my kids not even a text saying merry Xmas. Nothing.

by the sounds of it- your teen is very much aware of his fathers shortcomings.

How so they get on when his dad does decide to be involved ?

@rochethenut you are 100% correct and he his started to distance himself a lot . He’s polite but not as keen on spending lots of time with his dad . I’ve never stopped him from seeing his dad and I’ve left it up to him to make his own choices but I think he is starting to realise .
