I am so confused .

I want it to carry a newborn plus an 18 month old. Please can someone provide me with an idiot's guide to exactly which bits and pieces I will need to buy??

when is your newborn due?

you will need
buggy
doubles seat/kit
double stormcover (unless you live somewhere without rain)

if it is going to be cold then you might want the cocoon for the newborn and a footmuff/sleeping bag thing for the toddler

Hi thanks for that! Baby due in July so have a while yet but it will be time before I know it!

Oooh and because it will be summer when baby is newborn, get the sunmesh too.

You probably wont need the cocoon then, it will be too hot for it.
You can use a sheepskin and/or blankets to pad the section of the buggy where your baby will lie, instead of the cocoon,

I'm in the same position as you, have a baby due in july and DD will be 17 months at the time. Knew that I wanted two children close together so already had the Phil and Teds, although you won't need the cocoon for warmth I did find it very useful for being able to take a sleeping baby in and out of the pushchair without them waking up, can just put them in it straight into a moses basket. You will also probably need to get the panniers as once you have the doubles seat in the bottom position you loose most of the shopping basket space as that is where they put their feet. Good luck.

I found that a normal cosy toes fits fine, and can be much cheaper than P&T's own sleeping bag thingy. I have a Mothercare essential one and it works just fine - you'll probably want one for the winter.

You can fit one to the lower seat too.

in winter I would just get buggy snuggles rather than P+T cosy toes.

Agree cocoon good for sleeping babe although I never used it to carry DD2 in.
