5.5 month old trying to sleep on their side

My eldest only slept with her bum in the air when she was 6 months. But either that or on her back.

Is this safe?

They only have a sleeping bag (2.5 tog)

Any advice/ or reassurance welcome!

If they can move themselves in to a sleeping position, they have the neck strength to be able to free themselves should they get stuck face down

If you have an immobile baby, you shouldn’t put them to sleep face down in case their face gets stuck against the mattress and they can’t breathe

at 5.5 months your baby will be fine, put them down on their back and then relax - no need to intervene

Agree with above. Put them down on their back. Whatever they get themself into after then is fine.
