Perfect Prep Machine Reassurance

Hey all!

First and likely last post here (although you never know). I currently have a 2 1/2 yo and a 3 month yo and have used a TT Perfect Prep machine for both and I wanted to post some images today to maybe reassure anyone out there who uses one and/or has used one and is thinking about using it again X months/years down the line for another child.

We had around an 18 month gap between stopping using our prep machine to me digging it back out from under the cupboard and giving it a clean and a few cycles with Milton solution etc. When we used it for our first we just followed the instructions in the manual for cleaning and didn’t do anything special but had always seen some bad press regarding things going on “inside” the machine so when it came to second we obviously considered getting another machine but decided against for a variety of reasons.

The machine has died on me today randomly (the not so good) but I took the opportunity to take it apart so I could share some pictures to maybe put some other parents minds at ease here. This is the inside of my machine after owning it for about 2 1/2 years and it having a large gap of 18 months where it sat collecting dust before being used again for a month or so.

Hope it helps in some way.

I understood that it was more the temperature that is an issue. When tested a lot of machines don't hit 70° for the 'hot shot'

That said I don't understand why you'd need one anyway. Boil kettle, add powder to bottle, add measured hot water, top with measured cooled boiled water. Job done.

There was an issue where previous machines had a build up of algae/insert other in the tubes so they changed how they told people how to clean them.

I guess convenience. This makes a bottle ready to feed before a kettle is boiled and certainly before you do anything else.
