Hi all. Myself and my wife had our first baby on 4/12/23. Beautiful little 5lb 8oz girl. She's fed Aptamil, using the MAM anti-colic bottles as wife was didn't want to breastfeed.
She's now 19 days old and for the last week, she been spitting up after all her feeds, either while we are trying to burp her, where she takes a break or after a bottle is finished.
We are feeding her more upright and feeding her roughly every 2 hours during the day and 3 to 3.5 hours during the night since this all started because she was going 4 to 5 hours between feeds we were having to wake her up to feed.
I'm using an app to track her feeds whereas my wife is writing it down. She's averaging 7.9 bottle a day and averaging 632ml a day.
After she's fed and we hold her for 30-40 minutes which is a struggle at night time when we are tired, we'll lay her down but within a minute or so she's sick, not projectile vomiting though only had that once when I was burping her and got covered in sick.
When she is laying down she makes horrible noises like stuff is stuck in her throat, she doesn't make these noises if she's held upright and it's a sign for us to grab a muslin ASAP as we know she's about to be sick. There's been a few times where it's sounded more like she's chewing on something.
I'm going to mention this all to our health visitor next week as when she is sick, if its a lot we know she going to start crying for food, other times if it's only a little bit of sick we might get an hour before she's after food.
Just looking for opinions if this is possibly reflux or is this just normal hungry baby behavior??
