First Christmas without DS

I'll not go into detail but this is the first year my son (8) will be waking up Xmas morning at his dads. He's coming home at 2pm Xmas day. Knowing what ex is like I'm 50/50 as to wether or not he will be home for 2PM if he changes the time on the day to say 5PM how do I respond? I can't just go and collect as if he's being difficult he will no doubt visit a family member at 2PM.

What is the arrangement? Ex has DS Christmas Eve and Christmas Day morning? Maybe your ex will drop him off before visiting the relative?

Next year you have DS for the same number of hours that your ex had him on Christmas Day this year - if your ex keeps him all day and you don't get to see him then next year you get DS all day on Christmas Day and ex doesn't get to see him....

That sounds very sensible pineapple.
