Hi all. Just wanted some advice. My wife is going away for a week to see her mother. The problem is she lives in a war zone and I decided it wasn't safe to go along with our 4 years old son.
He is a real momma's boy, I'm part of his life but I work FT and although me and him get along just fine, he has more attachment to her. So I'm facing a difficult chat with our son explaining he's not going with mom and will stay with Dad for a week at home. I don't know how he'll react, as he's quite clingy to his mom and might be upset and confused as she's going away and he doesn't understand about wars.
Any ideas on what to say and when I/we should tell him? Thanks in advance.
