Speech delay - did private therapist help

My ds is 3 and not talking. He got referred at 2 and has been seen 3 times for VERVE therapy and hasn't even been seen by a speech therapist. Obviously private speech is a lot of money so just wondering if you would recommend it and whether it did actually help? If so how many sessions did they have? Thank you

Yes it really did help for my twins. They were 4 when we decided to bite the bullet and go for it, it was definitely worth it and looking back now we should have done it earlier (but really couldn’t have afforded it). If you can afford it I’d say go for it. We just started with a block of 6 and went from there (which is what they all seem to recommend). After the block of 6 we happened to finally get nhs speech therapy so haven’t had any more private so far.

My brother didn't speak a word until he was 3yo, he went to NHS speech therapy once a week, this was 80s, the waiting list was about a week.

Did it work? he is a high flying consultant engineer, works all over the world!

If you can afford it, you ve got at least try it.

Yes it will help. Ask for homework too.
have you had your dc hearing tested? Also for glue ear? That can contribute to speech delay. Grommets resolve it.
