3 year old crying all the time.

My 3 year old daughter cries pretty much non stop over everything, she wakes up through the night crying and there is only occasional periods where she’s not crying. Recently, the last month or so she’s started becoming reluctant to go to nursery and gets upset and clings to me when I drop her off. She was inconsolably crying last night for my partner, saying she missed her and my partner went and soothed her multiple times to try and get her to sleep but not long after leaving the room it would start again. I tried to take over but our daughter started crying again saying she missed her and was worried she was leaving the house / going somewhere and my partner had to come back up to reassure her that she was still there and would be all night and that she’d see her again in the morning. I’m not sure if this is normal behaviour for a child her age or if I should take her to talk to someone? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think there is a range of normal. I think many three year olds struggle to go to sleep on their own. My 4 year old still has mu husband sit with her til she sleeps (I'm with the baby). If she woke at night she would cry for one of us though of late she has been sleeping all night. We have tears on many nursery mornings. However if there really are only occasional periods when she's not crying I would say that's unusual. Is she overtired? Has there been a big change in her life recently like a new sibling or parent being away a lot?
