This time of year really does test parents. It can be beautiful and lovely but also very stressful and isolating. Would love to know any advice seasoned parents can give to those of us first timers with manic 5 year olds! How do you guys look so calm, organised, motivated, healthy and happy????

Get outside!

If possible just go for a walk to "look for Christmas lights", up and down streets, counting, looking for colours, whatever.

Just get outside, even if that needs wellies as well. I know our days are infinitely harder if we haven't been out at all. Fresh air can be a real re-set.

We also talk about Christmas time and that it's already started / happening to try to flatten the curve and lower the pressure on actual
Christmas Day.

Do lots of easy Christmas craft stuff together - if you can set aside a couple of hours and not worry about mess for an hour it's lovely and mindful:

Paper chains from magazines / coloured paper cut into strips
Paper snowflakes
Christmas disco
Make cards for someone
Christmas colouring (print from internet)
Christmas poster / scene
Toilet roll snowmen
