Since the age of 6 My 9 year old tends to feel sick in the mornings before school and any smell will set him off e.g we walk past a coffee shop on the way to school and he will have to cover his nose and sometimes heaves and sometimes vomits he loves school and has lots of friends there is no concerns about anything going on in school another problem is football he has been playing since aged 6 but did quit because of games anxiety due to bad coaching however he has now got back on a team for around 7 months with great coaches and he seems to really enjoy playing again however he has 2 times in the past month vomited before a game the games are usually early morning he doesn't eat much before them just an apple normally as he cannot stomach breakfast until later the cycle of vomiting also only happens in winter never in the spring summer months he is quite shy when he started nursery at 3 he never spoke a word until reception during lockdown he was in a small group with other key worker children and this is only when he started to come out of his shell when he's around familiar people he's really not shy he's loud and boisterous as anything do I get him to lay of the football he enjoys? Because I'm concerned that some stress is being caused also he has been to the Drs and blood tests were fine also tried a nasal spray Incase of a postnasal drip and that didn't help I do think this is some sort of anxiety he has I'm not sure what to do

Hi. Did you get any advice for your son? My nephew has exactly the same thing. He is 15. Being sick before football matches. And now sometimes randomly in the morning too. I also think anxiety maybe. Have you managed to get any help? Thanks

Hi we haven't sought any help yet from the doctors they said to make another appointment if it gets worse there's been a slight improvement in his anxiety it does always seem worse from end Oct to December I've told him to take deep breaths to relax in the mornings and put some music in the background on he likes also talk about other things before his matches like what shall we do for the rest of the day go to see his friends ect also his coaches have been supportive this has helped too.
