9 week old off his feeds

My baby is 9 weeks and has his first lot of immunisations on Thursday morning (he had them a week late as that's when my GP could fit me in).

He has a fever, was grouchy etc on Thursday/Friday morning but since then he's been ok. He was having Calpol for the temp but we've stopped that since his temp is back to normal. However, he hasn't been right with his bottles since.

He was doing 6oz every 4 hours and drinking 5-6oz every feed. Now I can't get him to have more than two (and that's a struggle). When I try and feed him he's super fussy and whinges like he doesn't want it.

He's only ever been bottle fed btw. I'm starting to worry about how little he's drinking.

Is this related to his jabs or something else? Any advice would be appreciated.

Did he have the rotavirus jab too?(the one that goes in their mouth)

That one messed my LO up for about 10 days each time and his nappies were a bit of a mess too. It has to travel through their system apparently. I was even considering declining the second one because he barely ate for 10 days. Completely back to normal after that phase passed though if that’s any reassurance. Hopefully it passes soon for you!

@Thelazygardener yes, he did have it. 10 days?! I really hope this doesn't last that long!

Keep an eye on dehydration but don't avoid vaccinations for this, calorie-wise he will make it up later.

There is a chance he has separately picked up something like an ear infection (which can make swallowing hurt). Try giving a dose of calpol about 40 mins before he is due a bottle and see if it helps. If it does,it might be worth taking him to have his ears checked

@colourPink yes about 10 days to be fully back to normal I’d say. It eased after about a week. He wasn’t like it at all after his 3rd set so i think it was definitely the rotavirus on the first 2 lots.

I just offered milk little and often during that time and he did up his milk intake but in smaller volumes during that time.

I would go back to the GP
