Hello all
I am bottom of band 8a in NHS. Payroll team cannot provide a forecast until I’ve sent in the paperwork and on the paperwork you have to state how you want mat leave pay paying.

does anybody know the forecasts for both spreading the cost over a year and the amounts paid per policy please? (8wks FP and 18wks HP)?

Hi, sorry I can’t help with the amount but suggest you input salary into an nhs maternity pay calculator which you’ll find on Google. I was on the same banding two years ago when on mat leave, and my Trust uses ‘SBS pay’ company for payroll, who are sh*te. I only got a maternity pay schedule once my mat leave started, not before. And apparently they wrongly calculated it so I was overpaid nearly £7k over the full year. So they then took £600 from my salary when I returned to work part time for 12 months! And I didn’t understand the figures so contesting it wasn’t successful. So word of advice would be ensure it’s definitely correct before you start your mat leave. Good luck and congrats on your pregnancy!
