Anyone fixed early waking successfully ?

DS is 7 months next week, he’s a pretty good sleeper at night however he’s recently started waking at 530.

Does anyone have any tips that might work, not expecting miracles and him to start sleeping until 7, but something starting with a 6 would make me feel a bit more human.

Not to be pessimistic but no. Mine are 3 and 1 now. During the summer months it's 5.30

I feel like I have 'tried everything' and have given up and just accepting it. During the winter they're both 6-6.15 . I'm curious to see what my 3 y old will do next summer since he won't be napping then, but im not hopeful.

I do feel better for accepting it and since trying everything and seeing no progress, I just put them both to bed at 6.40 in the summer months and 'reclaim' my time in the evenings and get an early night. (I tried weeks of 7.30 bedtime, 8 bedtime, 8.30 bedtime etc etc black out blinds, white noise, cutting naps, you name it, I tried it, nothing worked . )

However, do try it because it might work for your kids!

@firstpregnancy1
Same here and DD turned four in October. Still 5.45-6.15 in winter and 5.30 onwards in summer. I'm praying that school next September tired her out a bit. We know loads of people whose kids sleep in til after 7. Tried early and later bed times etc etc.
she's also not napped since 18 months at all as well!

I did the stir to sleep method and it worked a charm. Took a couple of weeks, but I did it religiously. Did it from around 8 months.

@smooshraspberry thanks, how did you do it in the morning? Did you in early before they had woken up?

@Longesthello does your little one do a long first nap of the day to catch up?

I would go in about 10pm to do the wake up. Admittedly she always went back to sleep straight away. I know some babies aren't quite so easy.
Another key is working on the naps and trying to ensure that they have their longest nap during/just after lunch time.

So cap the first nap. Long lunchtime nap. Short 4/5pm nap to see them through till bed.
