SMA Alfamino not dissolving

Has anyone else found that SMA Alfamino doesn’t fully dissolve? We’ve tried different temperatures, different teat sizes, shaking vigorously, leaving to settle for 10 mins… but it still clogs the teat. Anyone experienced this and have a solution?

It is quite grainy formula even when fully dissolved. Are you using any thickeners with it?

Our method was to dissolve it in a few Oz of recently boiled water get it into solution. Add the gaviscon sachets we used then top up with cooled boiled water. We did 3 Oz boiled and 2oz cooled for a 5oz bottle and 5 and 3oz for an 8oz bottle. We used lanisoh bottles with the variflow teats

Not using any thickeners. We were just introducing it by mixing 1oz Alfamino with 3oz breastmilk just to get him used to the taste. We use nanobebe bottles and they only seem to have Y cut teats which I’ve just ordered - any idea if this shape should help stop the grains from clogging?

Even with a thickener we didn't have issues with it blocking the teat. Although grainy it is quite a thin formula.
How is it before being mixed with the breastmilk?
We didn't do a transition as I had to stop breastfeeding immediately and didn't have a stash of expressed milk

How old are they? We got her used to the taste by using it in her breakfast when we were weaning.

She was 10 months when we went to formula and had the medium flow naturalwave teat

That’s strange. I wonder if it’s our bottles then.

We’re mixing 1oz with boiled water (have tried different temps) then adding to warmed breastmilk.

He’s only 4m so unfortunately aren’t at the weaning stage just yet but that would have been a really good way to get him used to the taste.
