Hi All,
My youngest is almost 2. She has always been a relatively good sleeper but a few months ago started getting her first molars through and she now refuses to go in her cot to sleep unless myself or my husband lies next to her, holding her hand. Once she's asleep we sneak out the room. This was ok for a while as she was still sleeping through but for the last 3 weeks or so she has been wakening up, usually before we've even gone to bed. Sometimes she will settle back to sleep if we go back in and see her, other times if it's close to me going to bed I will just take her in beside us. I feel she is wakening because she's realising we're not there anymore however we tried to sleep train using the ferber method and it was awful. She was inconsolable and it broke my heart hearing her cry out for me so I stopped it.
On top of all this she has started refusing to let my husband do anything for her. She won't let him lie next to her for bedtime, or take her downstairs in the morning for breakfast. She cries if I leave the house and she's started crying when going in to nursery.
I'm finding all of this on a whole really tough and wondered if anyone has gone through something similar and had any tips?
