Baby in nursery part time at 6.5 months and he loves it so far. Seems really happy I get pictures of the fun activities.

I'm so glad he's settling in well but part of me worries home will seem so dull in comparison. We don't have that many toys and I'm not the best when it comes to playing with baby. I always feel a bit silly and not sure what else to do after 5 minutes.

Is it normal to worry you're rubbish in comparison to fun nursery staff?

I came at it from the other point of view and thank goodness she has the days in nursery that are different/more engaging than just me!

She's now 3 and we do different things to nursery and but think everything builds to something rounded.

It does kids good to get bored and to have to seek out fun. It can be anything too! When we were in hospital one of the nurses had a bit of a rant about the sensory kits the ward had and how lost of it could have been bought in Tesco. A honey spoon with a stripe of ribbon tied around it sort of thing.

Find something to build your days around. I have 1 day off with my daughter and we start the day by going to a playgroup. The rest of the day varies depending on my to do list so it could be being dragged around shops for chores that need doing or it could be an afternoon at grandma's or home for a craft afternoon or we go to the library and pick out more books or like today I really needed to get showered and ready for my Christmas party with a 10 minute cross over between me and dad I couldn't wait her him to get back from work. She had a great time watching toy story.

You can't compete with the toys that nursery has. Good. You can still have an enriching time at home with different toys and resources. Some of my favourite afternoons with my daughter is when I just sit back and let her explore the house.
