The nursery said my toddler isn't playing nice

I got asked the other day by my lg's key person how she is with other kids, usually from what I've observed, shes interested in other kids, but just stands and stares she won't engage with them unless I encourage her to say hello. Key person then told me that my lg's behaviour towards other children in the nursery has changed recently, shes been snatching, grabbing, and pushing, and getting easily frustrated if someone is in her space. It's only with the other kids that she displays this behaviour though it's not with the adults which I find curious. She's our first born and she's 20 months old now, so I'm not sure if this is entering terrible 2's territory, but I'm not sure how to handle it either? She has hit, pushed, kicked us (parents) in the past, but we have reinforced using gentle hands which she grasped really quickly and knows to be gentle. Can anyone advise on this?

This is standard stuff for her age, try not to worry. Ask nursery what strategies they are using and try to adopt the same so she has consistency in response. It will ebb and flow over the next 12-18 months until she learns better impulse control. We've had similar comments and I understand it's upsetting, but try to frame it in the context of her development and keep consistent with how you address it.
