Cold Sores!!!

Hi, I'm looking for some advice/ reassurance.

I have had chapped lips for a couple of days, probably from the cold weather. But I have been licking them to keep them from cracking, and today at about 2pm felt the familiar itching sensation before a blister appears.

My concern is that yesterday, I kissed my baby. And this morning I sucked her dummy because it had some fluff on it. Really embarrassed to admit I did that Sad

She is just short of 5 months old and a healthy chunky babe.

Do I need to be as worried as I am? Reading up about neonatal herpes on the NHS website is enough to knock any new mum sick!

I suffer badly with them and am medicated they get that bad.
When my baby was only a couple of months old, I did exactly the same as you and he was absolutely fine!
I’ve just posted about me having an active cold sore and accidentally brushing my 7mo head. In a right state! He seems ok but gosh the worry is real isn’t it! Damn herpes!!!

It could be fine. I get them, neither dc or their dad have ever had one.
