2 wheel or 3 wheel scooter for 5th birthday?

My son is turning 5, he's had his micro scooter since he was 2 and loves it. Time for an upgrade as he's getting too big for his + it's time as it's so used.

What's best, 2 wheels or continue with 3 wheels?

I’d get a 2 wheeler at that age

How good is his balance? If he's had three years on a three wheeler I'd imagine he's pretty confident about but a two wheeler is a completely different way of riding. All about balance, whereas a three wheeler almost encourages you to avoid balancing. Might take a little adjustment for him to get used to a different way of riding.

I got mine the 3 wheel maxi scooter for their 5th birthdays. The 2 wheeled ones are much wobblier and mine couldn't do that until they were by nearer 7.

@WashingAt30 he's got a bike but needs stabilisers. I might just get another 3 wheeler and depending on how it's looking, his baby bro can have it when he turns 5 in 2 1/2 years and big boy can get a 2 wheeler.

@Zebrasinpyjamas really good advice - thank you. As above. Xx
