Looking for tips and activities for entertaining a not quite 2 1/2 year old when sitting and walking are difficult (and bearing in mind it’s winter). I had quite bad pgp in first pregnancy but it’s started waaaaay earlier in second. I work 4 days so thankfully she’s at nursery 3 and family care for her 1. OH is very hands on but even family outings this weekend were a struggle and there’s only so much Bluey I can watch!

With my second baby it started before I even missed my period, so I had it throughout.

For my first and second trimesters where I could still leave the house ok I would go to a playgroup in the mornings so I could mostly sit, home for lunch, nap and tv until my husband came home. My little one (21m when second was born) would sometimes play around me but yeah, lots of tv. I'd also have a basket of sedentary activities by my side. 2 days a week were with my parents whilst I worked (from home).

For the third trimester she'd started at a childminder, and between her, my parents and my husband they cared for her most of the time. I was housebound by that stage though unless taken door to door places by my husband or in a wheelchair.

Tips:

-carry a bag around with you with everything you need in it so you don't have to go up and down the stairs/walk round more than you need to.

  • make sure you get prescribed cocodamol if you need it. It helped a bit
-get in water and much as you can, whether thats a pool or the bath.
  • try to do one active (for them, not you) thing a day and then if it's just tv at least it's something.

I went to an Osteopath, it really helped. Not 100 gone but much much improved.

I really hope it doesn’t get that bad @GoingOffOnATangent but I could even walk the dog with one of them!
