Left out milk- worried

My 3 year old has a cup of filtered cravendale milk each morning - today I stupidly left this on the side and 10 hours later he took a sip of it. This was about an hour ago and is completely fine and eating.
Has this ever happened to anyone and did it make your little ones portly?

Do t worry. He's 3, for a start. And I doubt your kitchen is that warm overnight at the moment.

LucyInTheParkWithDragons · 02/12/2023 21:20

If it was off it would have smelled and tasted bad. He’ll be fine.

He'll be fine. Sour milk doesn't generally hurt anyway but I doubt it was really sour.

Portly? Is this a thing?

LBFseBrom · 03/12/2023 09:51

'Portly' means 'chubby', eg 'A portly gentleman'.

HippeePrincess · 03/12/2023 09:54

My grandparents used to keep the days milk in the cupboard in a jug all of the time, if some was left in the morning it wouldn’t be thrown away despite being out 24 hours it would be topped up with fresh milk. He won’t be ill.

ShowOfHands · 03/12/2023 09:55

OP clearly means poorly and it was left out during the day, not overnight.

OP I'm sure he's still fine today, right?

CurlewKate · 03/12/2023 10:04

@Rexhill he'll be fine. And also, you don't need to pay extra for filtered cravendale. Ordinary milk is fine.

I know what portly is, I was wondering why the OP thought that drinking warm milk once would make a child portly.

I thought it was one of those new age diet vegan plant based milk things.

But it was just a typo. Thankfully.

Milk never went in a fridge before they were invented I grew up with milk deliveries of bog standard milk the milkman left in the shade all day. We were never ill not even in summer ....lumpy milk on cornflakes wasn't the best.
School milk was always room temperature or yoghurt flavour in summer.
