Bedtime Stories

I'm not sure if this should be here or on the book thread but here goes.

My DD aged 2 loves her books but her favourite thing before bedtime is when I make up Princess stories about her. I have to say, I'm not as creative as I thought I was, and now I'm running out of ideas. I can't use stories in her books because she knows them so knows I've not made them up.

I've had a quick look on the web but most sites have long involved stories. I'm looking for VERY short, very simple stories just to help DD drift off to sleep. Any ideas on where I can find them, or how I can be better at making them up would be most welcome. I wish I hadn't started doing the stories now, it seemed like a good idea when we started but I didn't realise how into them she'd get!

Not exactly what you've asked for but DS loves his complete works of AAMilne & just chooses a page he wants ne to read. If its a story I carry on to the end (often my slightly abridged version) but sometimes he picks the poems at the back.

Could you get a whole load of VERY simple books from the library, skim through them and insert 'princess' if they are about teddy etc etc and learn those?

There is a series about a princess

'i want my potty'
'i want my dinner' etc etc that would be good, if you haven't used them already.

I'm liking that. Can't believe I hadn't thought about substituting Princess in stories about other stuff.

Thank you I'll look into it.
