It's absolutely fine

SiouxsieSiouxStiletto · 01/12/2023 07:21

Yes, perfectly fine Wink

DappledThings · 01/12/2023 13:43

Yes, would have been fine while you drinking, 5 minutes later or any time.

This is what I heard when breastfeeding and I think it can be an ok rule of thumb.

If you would be able to legally drive you should be ok to breastfeed. Your blood and milk alcohol levels are approximately the same.

The problematic level quoted on the NCT page is just over double the drink drive limit.

@Superscientist no it’s not, it’s almost four times the drink drive limit according to that article!l.

You can be well above the legal limit and the milk still be fine for the baby, it’s the other aspects of parenting I.e. increased risk of falling asleep/manhandling you need to watch out for.

Apologies for bad mental arithmetic. My 3 yo hasn't slept all week!

I just found a tangible thing to relate safe drinking and drinking too much to breastfeed.

Absolutely the handling of a baby is a bigger problem and not restricted to those that are breastfeeding. Driving comparison I found helpful here too.
