How to get 13 month old to stop biting me after feeding?

Hey guys! Any ideas on how I can get my 13 month old to stop biting me after his feed? I’m still breastfeeding and me and DS both want to continue but he bites me (sometimes hard) after he’s had a feed. He’s even drawn blood once! Sometimes I feel scared before I feed him, because I know he will bite me again. He clearly wants to breastfeed for a while yet and so do I, but it’s getting a bit difficult 🥺 I’ve tried putting him down after he bites me, telling him no, and leaving him for 5 mins, but it’s not really helping.

As you can’t reason with a 13 month old and you’ve told him no repeatedly then I would stop feeding him I’m afraid

Should have said this is the reason I stopped feeding my middle one. It just was too painful to be bitten daily

Do you mean biting your nipple or biting somewhere else? Is it a sign he's getting bored? Maybe talk to him, or end feeds slightly sooner, or keep a close eye to spot signs of him being bored?

My nipple, after he’s finished feeding

My baby has just turned 10 months and started biting, she also does it at the end of feeds (not very time), when she does age usually opens her mouth a bit first or smiles then as soon as I feel the bite I get my finger in to take her off and say in a form but nice voice no biting not kind, that was the advice from breastfeeding group anyway. She cried a bit the first time and fingers crossed so far hasn't bitten as hard but we'll see it's hard since she's too young to understand. I hope you find an answer, I'd be sad if biting was the reason I were to stop but I also get anxious before a feed anticipating a bite

Can you tell when he's finished feeding or about to bite? My DD is 10 months and sometimes I can tell she's going to bite me as she kind of lightly chews (?) before a big bite so I take her off quickly when I feel that.

It was the end of breastfeeding for me.

Just stop breast feeding. He’s old enough to use a cup and you don’t need that kind of anxiety
