Sores around baby's nose

My 15 month old has had a small red rash type
Thing on her nose for a few months
It's not a cold sore/blister etc it's more of a dry skin patch so haven't had to worry about it too much

Where she's had a cold and constant runny nose it's flared up and it's spread

I took her to the chemist and they said sudocreme and was nothing they could suggest

Is this worth a GP call ? Can they prescribe something or has anyone had this?

Are they sure it’s not impetigo?

keepfaith22 · 30/11/2023 09:47

No it's not that - well I'm pretty sure sure it's not

If it’s been there for a few months it needs checking.

Is it where snot has been rubbed?

My daughter gets sores from rubbing snot around her face and they can take ages to calm down. The best thing we have is hydromol which is like a thicker version of vaseline and is the best barrier cream we have found and it is good for dry skin too. It goes a long way we got a 125ml tub from out HV when my daughter was 6 weeks old. That was 3 years ago and we are still on the same tub! I think you can get it in the pharmacy as well as Amazon

Maybe, but nurse said it was nothing. No bacteria, just not healing as the area is always wet ( she has dummy so this doesn't help)
She said using nothing is best
But thank you for your advice I will get some and see how she goes
