My son had a really snotty nose as a baby and a toddler due to ENT problems. The snot resolved itself when his adenoids were taken out.

I did my best to wipe his nose, but I just could never keep up.

I HATE IT. NO NEED for such manky grottiness I feel like grabbing the kids and wiping their faces on their mothers coat.

Sunflower100 · 28/02/2009 17:51

dd has a permnently snotty nose- due to allergies. I hate it but unless I follow her round wiping constantly she quite often ha a snotty nose. I've given up- I wipe it as much as I can but one thing I hate is adults going 'Euwww' at her. Had to have a stern word with pil and mil about this,

LyraSilvertongue · 28/02/2009 17:53

DS2 was such a snot-moster that if I'd wiped his nose every time new snot appeared I'd have done nothing else. Thankfully he's been a lot better the last six months or so.

OrmIrian · 28/02/2009 18:07

Because when you have more than one it can be a perpetual round of wiping sometimes reluctant noses. And because it doesn't matter that much,

I am so fed up of taking my baby to play groups and soft play and have to watch kids with dripping snotty noses sneeze and wipe their bogies all over the equiptment. One had bogies hanging off her face ( nose to lip) which her mom left for hours. My baby kept going up to her. The girl sneezed all over us and we were sick for 4 days. Another wiped his dripping nose on a foam rocker we were about to jump on with his mom just watching and talking to him. Im sorry but i would hate to walk around with snots on my face. Get a wet wipe if worried about making their noses sore. Even with allergies id wipe my nose so why not a childs?. Most bogies come out if u give baby/toddler a shower. ( I dont use soaps on the babys skin but she showers daily) I use my hand to clean her nose. Gunk if any comes out which you would not have known was there. She only has a dripping nose after this if she has a cold and i wipe it and if its too regular i use a wet wipe.
