Mmr - Dc won’t sleep!

Dc had mmr a week ago, was ok a few days after, but now simply won’t sleep. Waking screaming every 30 minutes all night long, takes 30 minutes to settle. Anyone else? Just want to know that it passes…..

Other than the sleep Dc doesn’t seem particularly unwell. Slight snotty nose but very minor.

What pain relief have you tried so far @Beachwaves127?

I'd try some Ibruprofen today and maybe take him to the GP to rule out an infection causing the symptoms Flowers

Yeah try nurofen, I've found it better than calpol myself. Also my dd turned into a demon baby after the mmr!! She had it start of October time, only just really stopped being so grumpy ! She would just scream and scream for no reason it seemed

This is peak time for MMR reaction. Totally normal 7-10 days post injection. Symptoms can be mild, general grumpiness to full blown mini mumps. It's nothing to worry about but that's cold comfort for you!
You can give Calpol AND ibuprofen, worth a try..your DC can't express what is hurting so knock it on the head with a few dual doses.
My sympathies....don't be surprised if they spike a temp, either, again, in this time frame, it's almost normal. It's the body working with the vaccine to protect them. Good luck.

Hi @Beachwaves127 I am going through this with my DD (14 months) at the moment. It's been nearly 3 weeks and she just can't sleep without waking and screaming every hour or two. I'm so worried and the GP is no help. Would you be willing to share your experience? How long did it last for your DC? Did anything in particular help? Any help would be so gratefully received. X
