Looks normal to me. Their poo should be mostly liquid until they start solids.

@CoalCraft thanks so yeah it looks normal? With my baby there seems to be a build up of filling his nappy were he is unsettled goes red in the face, cries if he lets a fart out etc and just wondered if it was normal his nappy

Has it changed in consistency and is he pooping more than normal?

If not I'd say that looks normal.

Most babies pull funny faces/go red because they don't really know what muscles to use to poop yet.

I'd you're worried though speak to the HV

There is a huge range of normal for newborn poo and that falls within it.

Also normal for a newborn to go red in the face/unsettled before a poo - they're just getting used to the process and the gut is just 'settling in'.

In the same way newborn skin is full of bumps, spots etc. as it gets used to being on the outside
