Mam bottle measurements

Hello ladies
one for all the mam bottle users here!!

I’ve just started on mam bottles as baby kept choking on tomee tipee as the flow was too fast even on the slowest teat…

anyway, when making up a bottle of formula I’ve always worked off ml, instead of Oz.
On the tomee tipee bottles the ml and Oz difference isn’t a lot based on where the lines are on the bottle, however on the mam bottles it seems like a really big difference in the likes… for example, the line at 150ml is much higher than the line at 5oz on the mam bottles even though 5oz is meant to equal 150ml in baby bottle world.

i probably sound really dim but I really don’t want to be making up formula incorrectly and can’t work out whether it’s me that’s the problem or whether the mam measurements are wrong lol.. it also seems that I measure my 150ml of water and then once all is said and done before I feed baby there will be an extra Oz in the bottle! Someone said it’s because I stand the bottle in cold water to cool it down and the bottle is taking in the water but DH said this is impossible…

would really appreciated those who are experienced with the mam bottles to give me your advice on these measurements as I’m driving myself bloody nuts trying to work it out lol… Thank you x

@Erlouise hi, did you ever find out the 'correct' way, I'm exactly the same. My baby is on 5oz of anti reflux milk and has been constipated and when looking on tin it goes by ml and they always go by ml in hospital to and 5oz is 150ml which is a bit more water so now thinking could that be why he's constipated! Really confusing 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

@Jazie543x hi hun I just decided to stick to one way of measuring if that makes sense…. So I just always do mine in ML rather than Oz! No idea why they’re different I think when you actually weigh the difference it’s so minuscule that it definitely wouldn’t cause any problems for baby!
