Worried about toddler’s poop

So, a bit of back story.
my little girl (2yo) started preschool a month ago. She does a few mornings a week. For the last 3 weeks, she has had mucus in her poop. Sometimes it’s a lot and other times not as much. However, her poop never looks “normal”. It’s either very mushy or very slimy looking. Sometimes it smells really weird - a bit like sick! Other times it just smells like a really bad poop.
She’s had a few colds since starting preschool so my mum (not a medical professional 😂) said it’s probably to do with that and nothing to worry about, considering my little girl is completely fine in herself etc.
I'm going To book a gp appointment as it’s been so long, but it’s the weekend and she has just done a really bad one! It’s her fourth poop of the day I might add.
Does anyone have any experience of this? Should I be worried? Should I have got her to the docs sooner? I have a pic of todays one but don’t know if I should upload it as it’s quite gross 🤢
Grateful for any responses!

I would call 111 for advice or take her to a children's hospital with a stool sample, she may have a bug or digestive issues, 4 poos in half a day is not normal and she is so young and could be feeling poorly, hooe she feels better soon,

@HappyHamsters thank you for replying!
what’s odd is my husband is saying he has a bit of mucus in his poop too.
He agrees to get a gp appointment but doesn’t think it’s anything to worry about 🤷🏼‍♀️
it is sitting a bit weird with me but apart from a cold, she is her normal, happy self.
Thank you!

Sounds a bit like toddler's diarrhoea patient.info/childrens-health/acute-diarrhoea-in-children/toddlers-diarrhoea

@ditalini thank you for replying.
this does sound like what it could possibly be. The only thing is I wouldn’t categorise her poop as diarrhoea.

@LuckyStar511 did you ever get to the bottom of this? My little one is having the exact same! Thank you
