2 kids that usually sleep through, 4 year old is awake crying that his legs hurt. 10 month old is hysterical, will not stop screaming, won't feed or settle. Really really unlike both of them. Got a really weird feeling. Is there something that can cause leg pain? Something that maybe is wrong with the baby too and that's why he's so inconsolable? We've been calming down a hysterical 4 year old and 10 month old for hours as soon as one is calm the other starts we get back into bed and one wakes again, it is just so unusual I am feeling really weird about it

If 10 month old ever wakes he might whinge for boob but he'll feed and go straight back to sleep, we never ever have these hysterics and not settling

Same for 4 year old, he almost never wakes before 6am and has never been this frantically upset or saying his legs hurt

My initial response would be that they're feeding off each other's energy and just being kids. And then another side of me is thinking, Do you have carbon monoxide alarms?

But I don't want to freak you out!

Well, I'm absolutely sure you're not freaking out now we've given carbon monoxide poisoning and meningitis as the two possible answers. 😂

Maybe on this one, call 111, just to calm your own nerves.

No gas here thankfully, no other symptoms being pointed out by 4yo other than getting really distressed that his legs hurt. I've got him in my bed now asleep but 10mo is still absolutely inconsolable

They say growing pains can cause pain more at night

There is a very nasty bug going round that can cause muscle aches (4yr old) and earache or toothache (baby) just before the fever/chills or cough starts. Have you given the baby any age appropriate painkiller?
