Not at all

If ds (6) wont put his coat and shoes on, I shoo him outside with coat and shoes which he them puts on in front garden

It happened a few times and he has since chosen the more practical option!

MaureenMLove · 12/03/2008 13:09

Nah! Its probably a very valuable lesson to here. She won't pull her shoes off again, in case she gets cold feet!

cazboldy · 12/03/2008 13:10

no

one day I was shopping and dd1 (then about 3 I think) said "I need some new knickers Mummy"

I said "no, you don't!"

she said "yes I do - I haven't got any on!" lol

I've done similar to you Yurtgirl - could hear velcro on shoes being unfastened on way back from nursery to home (Ds then 2.6)(5mins max in car) - 'Ds, please do not take your shoes off, no, do not take your shoes off'.... Needless to say, Ds had shoes off when we got home. Went round to his door, unfastened straps on car seat, calmly removed socsk ('I don't want your socks getting wet') and made him walk from the car to the house in bare feet (4m?) (in December ). He has not taken his shoes off when I've asked him to keep them on since!

Also re coats - when asked to put on, Ds has said 'I don't want to wear it, I'm warm enough' - I've replied along the lines of 'fine, you'll get cold as its cold and wet outside, but I'll just carry it' and gone about getting ready to go out holding coat - this gets immediate change to wanting to wear coat!

my ds was complaining his feet were sore. I was shopping so decided to have his feet measured just in case,
i told shoe fitter man that his feet were sore and wondered if he needed bigger shoes, he smiled and said it might have something to do with his shoes being on the wrong feet

I once took my son to nursery with no nappy on, he was 15 months at the time. Strangely I had rememebered to put one on for his twin brother. I think all mummies have bad days!!!

Marne · 12/03/2008 18:01

I made dd walk a to the park with her shoes on the wrong feet.

Kindersurpise · 12/03/2008 18:05

My Mum got DD dressed one day.

When I took her to the toilet later in the day I realised that she had been wearing 2 pairs of pants all day. The previous days pants under the fresh ones.

ArmadilloDaMan · 12/03/2008 18:07

Ds repeatedly complained that his shoes were hurting (when he was about 2). They suddenly got really hard to put on. We thought he was mucking about. He's never been fond of shoes and we reckoned his feet couldn't grow that quickly.

Eventually we took him to get new ones. And found a sock pushed into the toe of each of the old ones

It must have been agony.

Soon you'll be sending her out to playgroup/nursery/school with no knickers on which you only discover when she's twirling over the gym bars. Or you'll get half way down the road to realise that she doesn't have a coat on. Or you leave her in the post office, sleeping in her buggy and it won't be until you're halfway down the road wondering why your hands feel empty that you see your mistake.

DD1 once went to Rainbows with no knickers on. And sat crosslegged on the floor.

milkgoddess · 12/03/2008 21:56

you are not a bad mummy.

Poppychick · 13/03/2008 16:38

A girl in my class came in with her PJ bottoms on under her school dress!! She only noticed at playtime. Her Mum (a school gov and helper) was mortified that it happened and that her DD clearly hadn't put clean knickers on either!!
