5 week old in Urgent Care Centre

Took my 5 week old to an urgent care centre this morning (sent by 111). It was filled was kids coughing and spluttering everywhere. We were there about an hour in total.
I am now terrified that DC may have picked up an illness and essentially come out worse than she went in, given her lack of vaccinations and immature immune system.
Are there any other Mums on here who have also taken their newborn to an urgent care centre or A&E with many coughing children, during those precious first weeks? How were they afterwards?
TIA x

Hi Op, I took my little one to paediatric a&e at the advice of our gp when he was 3 weeks old (for vomiting feeds). The a&e was so full we didn’t even have a seat, but he was fine and didn’t catch anything from being in there. I think a lot can be said for keeping them close to you and ensuring your hands are washed thoroughly and sanitised!

Hi OP, I took my baby to a&e around the same time and a couple of other times before 6 months. She caught a cold but it’s just a cold, nothing serious, don’t worry!

Hi OP,

I had my DD at 3 weeks down in A and E with me when I was in for something and couldn't leave her as she was EBF, I was advised there was active cases of COVID and some other illness when I spoke to a nurse after being there an hour or so. Baby was absolutely fine, just keep at eye on their temp and breathing but also don't worry yourself unnecessarily
