What do I do about this? A few days ago he complained of a sore ear but nothing since. It’s only on one side, the other looks clear!

It just looks like wax to me, but the photo blurs when I try to zoom in so accept I may not be seeing exactly what you are. However, if he complains again about pain, I would take him to be seen. DS had a horrible ear infection at 2 years old and was desperately ill.

Just had similar. GP said if it's very red or if it smells, take into the GP. If not cleared within 4 days of initial symptoms and is sore, take into the GP.

DS ended up having amoxicillin for 5 days.

Hope LO is okay, Poor thing!

If they are otherwise well, I wouldn't worry. Give it a gentle wash with a warm wrung out flannel when in the bath. I suspect nothing more will come of it, but if it continues go to the GP.

Thanks all.

I’ve noticed a huge lump of wax in there too! I’ve read olive oil works, but I think I’ll speak to the pharmacist.
