Tips for travelling solo with two toddlers

I've 2 DS, aged 3 and 1. Both born at different stages of lockdown so we haven't had much opportunity to travel or do holidays with them apart from visiting relatives. We took them both on holiday for the first time just over a year ago and it was an absolute car crash. I think DH is still traumatised by it! He very much does not want to repeat the endeavour for a good while.

But I really want to go places with them and not wait for the "perfect age", so I'm actually thinking about just taking them on my own. I don't mean anything overboard like a month in Vietnam (yet). Just want to start with some baby steps.

Does anyone have any advice from their own experience about travel and holidays with two (or more!) children and one adult? What sort of trips work best? Anything to watch out for? Any tips for making it easier? Or should I just listen to DH and avoid it altogether?? 😅

One thought is whether I can persuade a friend to come with me, even if I pay for their share! I feel like that could be fun - obviously so long as the friend was up for it but I have at least one who I think would be.
